We made our own wind and experimented to see if just blowing on our hands made a stronger wind or if it was stronger when we blew with a straw. Then we tried to see if we could keep a piece of tissue paper in the air with our own wind. We then saw how the force of the wind, from a fan, could keep a balloon in the air. We also made a tornado tube so we could see the funnel shape of a tornado. We discussed how we can use our senses to explain the effects of wind, and how wind can be helpful or very dangerous.
