We are taking advantage of having the system Sign Language teacher across the hall, Ms. Amber Brady. She helped us learn 5 Little Pumpkins, what a fun way to build our hand muscles!
We were so fortunate that the Thomas Co. Fire Department let us borrow a REAL fire fighters uniform, helmet and boots, the students LOVED dressing up in all of it.We decided that fire fighters are some of the coolest community helpers we learned about!
Yesterday we were fortunate to have Hudson's dad, Mike Rice, from Blue Bell, and several other community helpers come out to the school. Each class, on our wing, rotated around and we got to learn a little about what they do. We are a little bias, since he's Hudson's dad, but learning about Blue Bell was our favorite (plus we got to sample an ice cream sandwich).
In addition to guessing the circumference of our pumpkins we put them in order from smallest to biggest. We also described their texture and observed their color.Who knew pumpkins could be so fun!
